HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Agreement with Government of Canada authorized

1 The Government of Manitoba, represented

by the Minister of Transportation and Government Services, or by any other member of the Executive Council designated for that purpose by order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, may

(a) enter into an agreement with the Government of Canada, or with any minister of the Crown representing the Government of Canada, providing for the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and repair, of that part of a trans-Canada highway lying within the province; and

(b) do all things necessary or expedient to carry out any such agreement in conjunction with the Government of Canada; and in particular may institute and carry out such measures as are practicable and necessary for the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and repair, of that part of a trans-Canada highway lying within the province.

Entente avec le gouvernement du Canada

1 Le gouvernement du Manitoba, représenté par le ministre des Transports et des Services gouvernementaux ou par un autre membre du Conseil exécutif désigné à cette fin par décret du lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil, peut :

a) tant conclure une entente, avec le gouvernement du Canada ou avec un ministre qui le représente, qui prévoie la construction, la reconstruction, l'entretien et la réparation du tronçon d'une route transcanadienne situé dans la province;

b) que pourvoir, de pair avec le gouvernement du Canada, à la mise à effet d'une telle entente et, plus particulièrement, entreprendre et mener à bien des mesures réalisables et nécessaires à la construction, à la reconstruction, à l'entretien ou à la réparation de ce tronçon de route transcanadienne.

Trans-Canada highway a public work

2 Every highway, road, or other work begun, constructed, reconstructed, maintained, or repaired, under this Act or an agreement made under this Act, is a provincial trunk highway within the meaning of The Transportation Infrastructure Act; and that Act applies thereto except in so far as may be expressly provided to the contrary in the agreement.

Législation applicable

2 Les routes, chemins et autres ouvrages entrepris, construits, reconstruits, entretenus ou réparés aux termes de la présente loi, ou d'une entente conclue sous son régime, sont des routes provinciales à grande circulation au sens de la Loi sur les infrastructures de transport et cette loi s'y applique, à moins que le contraire ne soit expressément stipulé à l'entente.

Expenditures provided from annual appropriation

3 All moneys required to be expended for the purpose of carrying out an agreement made under section 1 shall be paid from moneys authorized by an Act of the Legislature to be paid and applied for, or in respect of, highways, works incidental thereto, and rights-of-way therefor.

Allocation des crédits

3 Les sommes nécessaires à la mise à effet d'une entente conclue aux termes de l'article 1 sont payées des crédits alloués par la Législature pour les routes et les ouvrages qui leur sont accessoires ainsi que leur emprise.
