Speed timing devices
1(1) The following types of speed timing devices are approved as being suitable for determining the speed at which motor vehicles are travelling on highways in Manitoba:
(a) the following devices by Decatur Electronics (formerly known as Decatur Electronics, Inc.):
(i) Hunter model 7715, also referred to as Decatur Hunter,
(ii) Hunter model 7715S, also referred to as Decatur Hunter Hand-Held model 7715S, Decatur Hunter 7715S and Decatur HHS,
(iii) Ra-Gun model 100, also referred to as Decatur Ra-Gun model 100,
(iv) Rangemaster model MV-715, also referred to as Decatur Rangemaster model MV-715,
(v) Genesis I, also referred to as Genesis 1, Decatur Genesis I and Decatur Genesis 1,
(vi) Genesis II, also referred to as Genesis 2, Decatur Genesis II and Decatur Genesis 2,

1(2) If the description or name of a device set out in subsection (1) includes the word "model", the device may, for any purpose, be referred to with or without using that word, including when the device is referred to in a certificate of accuracy or offence notice.

Required testing
1.1(1) To ascertain that a speed timing device is in proper working order, each speed timing device must be tested as follows:
(a) within the 24-hour period before the alleged offence was committed;
(b) within the 24-hour period after the alleged offence was committed.

1.1(2) The tests to be conducted for a laser speed timing device are a zero-velocity fixed distance test, a self test, a display test and a scope alignment test.

1.1(3) The tests to be conducted for a radar speed timing device are an internal circuit test, a light segment test, an external tuning fork test and an audio doppler test.
