The Path to Reconciliation Amendment Act
This note was written as a reader's aid to the Bill and is not part of the law.
This Bill amends The Path to Reconciliation Act to include references to the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
In addition to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the calls for justice of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls are to guide the Government of Manitoba's commitment to reconciliation.
(Assented to March 24, 2022)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
Clauses 4(a) and (d) are amended by adding "and the calls for justice of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls" at the end.
This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
