THE ELDERLY AND INFIRM PERSONS' HOUSING AMENDMENT ACT
(Assented to June 28, 1997)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
The Elderly and Infirm Persons' Housing Act is amended by this Act.
The definition "elderly persons' housing unit" in section 1 is amended by adding "and that meets the requirements prescribed by regulation" after "independently".
Section 27 is amended by renumbering it as subsection 27(1) and by adding the following as subsection 27(2):
Compliance with certain regulations
Eligibility to renew a licence that is valid on the day this subsection comes into force is not affected by a failure to meet the requirements of a regulation made after that day under clause 31(b).
Clause 31(b) is amended by adding ", including eligibility and standards, and terms and conditions to which a licence may be subject" after "homes".
This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
