The Human Tissue Amendment Act

(Assented to March 8, 1990)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Human Tissue Act is amended by this Act.

Section 1 amended

Section 1 is amended by adding the following definition in alphabetical order within the section:

"spouse" means a person of the opposite sex,

(a) to whom the person is married; or

(b) with whom the person is living or, immediately before the person's death, was living in a conjugal relationship outside marriage, if the two persons,

(i) have cohabited for at least one year, or

(ii) are together the parents of a child. («conjoint»)

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
