An Act to amend The Municipal Act
(Assented to September 10, 1986)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
Clause 50(1)(a) of The Municipal Act, being chapter M225 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba, is amended by striking out the words "under subsection (6.1) of section 49, or".
Section 139 of the Act is amended by striking out the words "and to the Provincial Auditor".
Clause 179.11(d) of the Act is repealed and the following clause is substituted therefor:
(d) "municipality" includes a local government district and any organization which the Lieutenant Governor in Council by order includes in the plan.
Subsection 223(2) of the Act is amended by striking out the words "upon the authorization of the Public Utilities Board".
Clause 372(1)(n) of the Act is repealed and the following clause is substituted therefor:
(n) for making grants to the operator of a hospital as defined in The Hospitals Act or to the operator of a school of nursing approved under The Registered Nurses Act, whether the hospital or the school of nursing is situated within or outside the municipality
(i) to assist in the erection or extension of buildings or for the acquisition of lands and equipment for the hospital or school of nursing, or
(ii) to be used to create or augment a reserve fund for the operation of a hospital;.
Subsecs. 372(3) and (3.1) rep.
Subsections 372(3) and (3.1) of the Act are repealed.
Subsection 433(1) of the Act is amended by striking out the word "joining" and substituting therefor the word "adjoining".
Subsection 583(5) of the Act is amended by adding thereto, immediately after the word "unincorporated" the word "village".
Subsection 678.7(1) of the Act is amended by striking out the word "it" and substituting therefor the words "the repealing bylaw".
Subsection 770(3) of the Act is amended by striking out the word "repayment" and substituting therefor the word "prepayment".
Clause 795(a) of the Act is amended by striking out the words and figures "section 37" and substituting therefor the words and figures "subsection 56(2)".
Clause 796(2)(1) of the Act is repealed and the following clause is substituted therefor:
(l) lands designated under The Wildlife Act and used as public shooting grounds and wildlife refuges.
Subsection 806(2) of the Act is amended by striking out the words "or manager" and substituting therefor the words "manager or member of council".
Subsection 880(1) of the Act is amended by adding thereto, immediately after the word "demand" the words "and on payment of the proper fee".

Subsections 880(3) and (4) of the Act are repealed and the following subsection is substituted therefor:
Fee to be established by by-law.
The fees chargeable for a tax certificate shall be as prescribed by by-law.
Subsection 888(6) of the Act is amended by striking out the words "but subsection (3) applies to such a by-law".
Subsection 888(12) of the Act is amended by striking out the words "as provided in subsection (3)".
The Act is amended by striking out, in the various sections, subsections, clauses and subclauses set out in Column 1 of the Schedule, the words set out in Column 2 and substituting therefor the word or words, if any, set out in Column 3.
This Act comes into force on the day it receives the royal assent.
