This regulation is made under the Manitoba Chicken Broiler Producers Marketing Plan Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 246/2004, and is Order No. 1, 2005 of Manitoba Chicken Producers.

Registration required

1   No person shall raise or keep or shall otherwise engage in the production of chicken broiler in Manitoba unless that person is currently registered with this board.

Application for registration

2   Every application for registration shall be in writing, in the form prescribed by this board, signed by the applicant, and shall be forwarded to the head office of this board together with the requisite fee, if any, prescribed from time to time by resolution of the board.

Exemption

3   The following persons are exempt from section 1 of this Order:

4   This Order is subject to the provisions of section 29 of the Manitoba Chicken Broiler Producers Marketing Plan which presently reads as follows:

29    The provisions of this plan applicable to the production or marketing, or both, of chicken broilers, except sections 14 to 16, and section 28, do not apply to a person who produces fewer than 1,000 chicken broilers in a calendar year, or to any person who has provided the board with a satisfactory undertaking that he or she will market fewer than 1,000 chicken broilers in a calendar year, provided that such person markets fewer than 1,000 chicken broilers in that year.

Repeal

5   Manitoba Regulation 92/81, commonly known as the Chicken Broiler Producer Registration Order, is repealed.
