THE DRIVERS AND VEHICLES AMENDMENT ACT (MANITOBA PARKS LICENCE PLATES)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. D104 amended

1   The Drivers and Vehicles Act is amended by this Act.

2   Subsection 60(1) is amended by striking out "sections 60.1 and 60.2" and adding "sections 60.1 to 60.3".

3   The following is added after section 60.2:

"Manitoba Parks" licence plates

60.3(1)   Upon receipt of an organization's application that is acceptable to the registrar, the registrar shall make available a specialty number plate that

(a) includes the words "Manitoba Parks";

(b) bears a graphic symbolic of the message conveyed by those words; and

(c) includes any other depiction, design or words as may be determined by the registrar.

Use of funds

60.3(2)   The minister may direct that all or a portion of the charges collected for the specialty number plates described in subsection (1) are to be paid by the administrator to a registered charity that supports projects in provincial parks.

Coming into force

4   This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
