THE HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AMENDMENT ACT

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. H60 amended

1   The Highway Traffic Act is amended by this Act.

2   Subsection 279(3) is amended by striking out "or" at the end of clause (b.2), adding "or" at the end of clause (c) and adding the following after clause (c):

(d) an action taken by the registrar under clause 11(4)(d) of the Ignition-Interlock Program Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 195/2003, for the failure by the person to allow an approved ignition-interlock device to be installed in a vehicle.

Coming into force

3   This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

Under amendments to The Highway Traffic Act, a person who fails to have an ignition-interlock device installed in their vehicle can no longer appeal the suspension of their licence or their participation in the ignition-interlock program.
