THE VITAL STATISTICS AMENDMENT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Vital Statistics Act is amended by this Act.

The following is added after subsection 25(4):

Application for no sex designation

25(4.1)

An applicant may request under this section that a sex no longer be designated for the applicant or that "X" be used to designate the applicant's sex. For greater certainty, the absence of a sex designation and the use of an "X" are considered sex designations for the purposes of this section and section 25.1 and may be used to designate the applicant's sex for the purposes of section 32.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force 30 days after the day it receives royal assent.
