THE STATUTE LAW AMENDMENT (NUNAVUT) ACT, 1999
(Assented to July 14, 1999)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
THE CROWN LANDS ACT
1 Subclause 4(1)(a)(iii) of The Crown Lands Act is amended by adding "or Nunavut" after "Northwest Territories".
THE INCOME TAX ACT
2 The definition "province" in subsection 1(1) of The Income Tax Act is amended by striking out "and the Northwest Territories" and substituting ", the Northwest Territories and Nunavut".
THE REAL PROPERTY ACT
3 Subsection 71(1) and clause 71(1.1)(c) of The Real Property Act are amended by striking out "or Northwest Territories" and substituting ", the Northwest Territories or Nunavut".
THE REGISTRY ACT
4 Subsection 20(1) of The Registry Act is amended by striking out "or Northwest Territories" and substituting ", the Northwest Territories or Nunavut".
THE WATER RIGHTS ACT
5 Subsection 21(1) of The Water Rights Act is amended
(a) by adding "or with the Government of Nunavut" after "Government of Canada";
(b) by striking out "beween the province and the Northwest Territories" and substituting "between the province and the Northwest Territories or between the province and Nunavut"; and
(c) by adding "or Nunavut" at the end.
6 This Act is retroactive and is deemed to have come into force on April 1, 1999.
