THE ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AMENDMENT AND CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS ACT


 

(Assented to June 28, 1997)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. A90 amended

1(1)      The Animal Husbandry Act  is amended by this section.

1(2)      Part III is repealed.

1(3)      Part IV is repealed.

1(4)      Parts V to VII are repealed.

Consequential amendment, C.C.S.M. c. H60

2         Subsection 155(9) of The Highway Traffic Act is amended by striking out everything after "shall" and substituting "report the occurrence to an animal protection officer appointed under The Animal Care Act."

Coming into force

3(1) This Act, except subsections 1(2) and (3) and section 2, comes into force on royal assent.

Coming into force: subsection 1(2)

3(2)      If during the third session of the 36th Legislature, Bill 31 entitled "The Livestock and Livestock Products and Consequential Amendments Act" is assented to, subsection 1(2) of this Act comes into force on the proclamation of sections 13 to 19 of that Act.

Coming into force: subsection 1(3) and section 2

3(3)      Subsection 1(3) and section 2 come into force on the proclamation of The Animal Care Act, S.M. 1996, c. 69.
