The Animal Husbandry Amendment Act

(Assented to June 24, 1992)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. A90 amended

1           The Animal Husbandry Act is amended by this Act.

2           Section 90 is amended by striking out "reside in and" in the definition of "technician commitment."

3           Section 95 is amended

(a) by repealing subsection (6);

(b) in subsection (7), by striking out "which are readily available to producers through the Manitoba Semen Distribution Centre"; and

(c) in subsection (9), by striking out "is a resident of the designated area applied for and".

4           Sections 97, 98 and 99 are repealed.

5           Section 100 is repealed and the following is substituted:

Records

100         Immediately after performing artificial insemination or an embryo transfer, every technician and every practitioner shall prepare a record of the artificial insemination or embryo transfer, containing the information required by the regulations, and leave a copy of the record with the owner.

6           Section 102 is amended

(a) by striking out "$200." and substituting "$500."; and

(b) by striking out "$2,000." and substituting "$5,000."

7           Section 103 is amended by repealing clauses (a), (h) and (i).

Coming into force

8            This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
