THE LIQUOR, GAMING AND CANNABIS CONTROL AMENDMENT ACT

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. L153 amended

1   The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act is amended by this Act.

2   Section 101.15 is repealed.

3   The following is added after section 101.26:

Residential cultivation of cannabis

101.26.1(1)   A person who is 19 years of age or over may cultivate up to four cannabis plants in their residence.

Compliance with regulations

101.26.1(2)   A person cultivating cannabis in their residence must comply with any requirements respecting the residential cultivation of cannabis established by regulation.

Prohibition

101.26.1(3)   A person must not cultivate cannabis in their residence except in accordance with this section.

4   The following is added after clause 157(2)(dd.18):

(dd.19) respecting the residential cultivation of cannabis;

Coming into force

5   This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

Explanatory Note

The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act is amended to allow a person who is 19 years of age or over to grow up to four cannabis plants in their residence.
