THE MISCELLANEOUS HEALTH STATUTES REPEAL ACT


Explanatory Note

WHEREAS Brandon General Hospital, Pine Falls General Hospital, The Pas Health Complex, Thompson General Hospital and The Wawanesa and District Memorial Hospital Association were incorporated by private Acts of the Legislature;

AND WHEREAS their operations have been transferred to a regional health authority under The Regional Health Authorities Act;

AND WHEREAS the private Acts under which they were established are no longer required and should be repealed;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Repeal

The following private Acts are repealed:

(a)  The Brandon General Hospital Incorporation Act;

(b) The Pine Falls General Hospital Incorporation Act;

(c) The Pas Health Complex Incorporation Act;

(d) The Thompson General Hospital Incorporation Act;

(e) The Wawanesa and District Memorial Hospital Association Incorporation Act.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

This bill repeals the private Acts that incorporated five Manitoba hospitals.  Each of the hospitals is now operated by a regional health authority under The Regional Health Authorities Act.  The private Acts are therefore no longer required and can be repealed.
