The Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. Business Authorization Act

WHEREAS Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company") was incorporated under the laws of the Province of British Columbia on June 7, 1950;

AND WHEREAS the company was a loan company within the meaning of The Companies Act;

AND WHEREAS the company, by its petition, prayed that it should be authorized to carry on business in the Province of Manitoba as a loan company;

AND WHEREAS its prayer was granted, and resulted in the enactment of An Act respecting Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. Business Authorization, assented to March 30, 1962;

AND WHEREAS the Minister of Justice has caused the Act to be prepared in English and French for re-enactment in accordance with a judgment dated June 13, 1985 and an order dated November 4, 1985 of the Supreme Court of Canada;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Authority to carry on business continued

The authority of Laurentide Financial Corporation Ltd. to carry on business in the Province of Manitoba is continued.

NOTE:  This Act replaces S.M. 1962, c. 121.
