The International Peace Garden Act

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Description of lands.

The following lands are hereby set apart for the purposes of an International Peace Garden:

(All those portions of sections two (2), three (3), ten (10), eleven (11), and adjoining road allowances in township one (1), range twenty (20), west of the principal meridian in Manitoba, contained within the following limits, namely, commencing at a point in the southerly limit of the south-west quarter (S.W. 1/4) of section two (2), distant easterly thereon twenty-five hundred and eighty and nine-tenths (2,580.9) feet from the south-west corner of the quarter section; thence northerly on a course forming an angle on its westerly side with the southerly limit of the quarter section of eighty-nine (89) degrees, fifty-three (53) minutes, ten (10) seconds, a distance of three hundred and four and two-tenths (304.2) feet; thence on a course deflecting to the left seven (7) degrees, eighteen (18) minutes, fifty (50) seconds, a distance of six hundred and twenty-seven and nine-tenths (627.9) feet; thence on a course deflecting to the right five (5) degrees and forty (40) minutes, to the northerly limit of the south-west quarter (S.W. 1/4) of section eleven (11); thence westerly along the northerly limit and its production to the north-east corner of the south-east quarter (S.E. 1/4) of section ten (10); thence westerly along the northerly limit of the south half (S. 1/2) of section ten (10) to the westerly limit of section ten (10); thence southerly along the westerly limit of section ten (10) and its production to the north-west corner of section three (3); thence southerly along the westerly limit of section three (3) and its production to intersect the International Boundary between Canada and the United States of America; thence easterly along the International Boundary to its intersection with the production in a straight line southerly of the course firstly above described; thence northerly along the production of the course firstly above described to the point of commencement and containing by admeasurement 1,452 acres more or less, for the purposes of an International Peace Garden;

The Lieutenant Governor in Council may

(a) subject to such terms and conditions as he sees fit to impose, vest the management and control of the lands in such person or persons as is considered desirable, and confer such powers as are deemed necessary for the purpose; and

(b) enter into any agreement that is, and make such orders and regulations in connection therewith as are, necessary for the proper development of the International Peace Garden and for the purposes of this Act.
