It has been in effect since November 14, 1990, when this Act came into force.

WHEREAS there existed in the Province of Manitoba an association of ecclesiastics under the name of La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur, whose object was to preach and hold missions and to perform other various works of religion and of charity;
AND WHEREAS certain persons, by their petition, prayed that the said association should be incorporated;
AND WHEREAS their prayer was granted and resulted in the enactment of An Act to Incorporate "La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur", assented to March 29, 1901;
AND WHEREAS the Minister of Justice has caused the Act to be prepared in English and French for re-enactment in accordance with a judgment dated June 13, 1985 and an order dated November 4, 1985 of the Supreme Court of Canada;
ATTENDU QU'il existe au Manitoba une association d'ecclésiastiques nommée « La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur » ayant pour objets la prédication, la tenue de missions et l'accomplissement de différentes oeuvres de religion et de charité;
ATTENDU QUE certaines personnes ont demandé la constitution en corporation de cette association;
ATTENDU QUE leur demande a été reçue et qu'il en a résulté l'adoption de la loi intitulée « An Act to Incorporate "La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur" » sanctionnée le 29 mars 1901;
ATTENDU QUE le ministre de la Justice a fait rédiger la présente loi en français et en anglais en vue de sa réadoption en conformité avec un jugement et une ordonnance de la Cour suprême du Canada datés respectivement du 13 juin 1985 et du 4 novembre 1985;
THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Continuation
1 La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur (hereinafter referred to as "the corporation") is continued as a corporation consisting of those persons who are members of the association on the coming into force of this Act and such other persons as may hereafter become members.

1 La Congrégation du Très-Saint-Rédempteur (ci-après appelée la « Corporation ») est prorogée à titre de corporation composée des personnes qui en sont membres.
Powers as to real estate
2 The members of the corporation may possess, have or receive for themselves, or for their successors, such lands, tenements and hereditaments in this Province, as may be necessary for the uses and the purposes of the corporation; and may sell, alienate, build upon and dispose of the same and acquire others in their stead for the same purposes.
Pouvoirs à l'égard des biens réels
2 Les membres de la Corporation peuvent posséder, avoir ou recevoir pour eux-mêmes ou pour leurs successeurs, les biens-fonds, les tènements et les héritages situés au Manitoba et pouvant être nécessaires aux fins de la Corporation. Directors, by-laws and rules
3 There shall be a board of directors, of whom three shall be a quorum. The board may make by-laws, rules and regulations for the admission of members in the Corporation, also for the admission and retirement of the members of the corporation, the place of meeting of the directors, such meeting to be within the Province of Manitoba, the number of said meetings, for the administration of the properties, and also for the management and internal government of the corporation.

3 La Corporation est pourvue d'un conseil d'administration dont trois membres suffisent à constituer le quorum. Management of affairs
4 The affairs of the corporation shall be managed by the members thereof for the time being in accordance with rules and regulations established from time to time by such members; said rules and regulations shall be entered in a book and evidenced by the signature of the Superior and the seal of the corporation.

Objects of the corporation
5 The objects of the corporation are preaching and holding missions, educating the poor and abandoned and performing various works of religion and of charity as may be directed by the ecclesiastical authorities.

Returns to Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council
6 The corporation shall at all times, when called upon so to do by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, render an account in writing of its property and affairs.
