WHEREAS the Minister of Justice has caused this Act to be prepared in English and French for re-enactment in accordance with a judgment dated June 13, 1985 and an order dated November 4, 1985 of the Supreme Court of Canada;

ATTENDU QUE le ministre de la Justice a fait rédiger la présente loi en français et en anglais en vue de sa réadoption en conformité avec un jugement et une ordonnance de la Cour suprême du Canada datés respectivement du 13 juin 1985 et du 4 novembre 1985;

THEREFORE, HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Shoal Lake Community Centre

1 For the purposes of The Municipal Act, the park to which reference is made in By-law No. 405 of 1964 of The Village of Shoal Lake, and in By-law No. 750 of 1964 of The Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake is deemed to be a community centre, and The Village of Shoal Lake and The Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake may each pass by-laws for imposing an annual rate which, notwithstanding The Municipal Act, may exceed one mill, over the rateable property in the whole of each of the municipalities, to erect, maintain and regulate the community centre.

1 Pour l'application de la Loi sur les municipalités, le parc visé à l'arrêté n^o 405 de 1964 du village de Shoal Lake et à l'arrêté n^o 750 de 1964 de la municipalité rurale de Shoal Lake est réputé constituer un centre communautaire. Le village de Shoal Lake et la municipalité rurale de Shoal Lake peuvent respectivement, pour l'érection, l'entretien et le réglementation du centre communautaire, prendre des arrêtés imposant une taxe annuelle qui, par dérogation à la Loi sur les municipalités, peut excéder un millième de la valeur des biens cotisables situés dans chacune des municipalités.

Authority to borrow

2 The Village of Shoal Lake and The Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake may borrow sums not exceeding, in the combined aggregate for both municipalities, the sum of $25,000. to pay for construction of, and improvements to, the park referred to in section 1, and may enact by-laws authorizing the issue and sale of debentures for that purpose, and may issue and sell the debentures pursuant to the by-laws.

2 Le village de Shoal Lake et la municipalité rurale de Shoal Lake peuvent contracter des emprunts dont le montant, pour les deux municipalités réunies, ne peut excéder 25 000 $ afin de couvrir les frais de construction et d'aménagement du parc visé à l'article 1. Ils peuvent également prendre des arrêtés autorisant l'émission et la vente de débentures à cette fin et procéder à l'émission et à la vente de ces débentures.
