The Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club Incorporation Amendment Act

(Assented to October 9, 2008)

WHEREAS The Lake of the Woods Yacht Club was incorporated by An Act to incorporate "The Lake of the Woods Yacht Club Incorporation Act", S.M. 1909, c. 90;

AND WHEREAS the Act was subsequently amended and the name of the corporation changed to "The Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club";

AND WHEREAS the corporation was continued by The Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club Incorporation Act, R.S.M. 1990, c. 157;

AND WHEREAS the corporation has presented a petition requesting the following amendments to that Act, and it is appropriate to grant the petition;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club Incorporation Act is amended by this Act.

Subsection 1(2) is replaced with the following:

Object

1(2)

The object of the club is the encouragement of sailing and other recreational sports as determined by the club.

Section 2 is amended

(a) in the section heading, by striking out "and objects of club"; and

(b) in the section, by striking out ", and if deemed advisable to acquire any of such assets in exchange for paid-up stock of the club at par value".

Section 3 is amended by striking out ", and the unpaid balance of any stock held by him".

Sections 4, 5 and 6 are repealed.

Section 7 is amended by striking out everything after "effects of the club".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
