The Personal Health Information Amendment Act (Spiritual Health)

(Assented to June 10, 2004)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. P33.5 amended

The Personal Health Information Act is amended by this Act.

Subsection 1(1) is amended

(a) in clause (a) of the definition "health care", by striking out "physical or mental condition" and substituting "health"; and

(b) by adding the following definition:

"health" means the condition of being sound in mind, body and spirit; (« santé »)

In the following provisions, "mental or physical health or the safety" is struck out and "health or safety" is substituted:

(a) clauses 11(1)(a) and 14(2)(b);

(b) subclauses 21(c)(i) and 22(2)(b)(i).

Clause 23(2)(c) is amended by striking out "physical or mental condition" and substituting "health".

4(2)

Subsection 23(3) is amended by striking out "physical or mental".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
