THE CIVIL SERVICE AMENDMENT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Civil Service Act is amended by this Act.

The following is added after section 58:

Sections administered by Treasury Board

58.1(1)

Notwithstanding this or any other Act, sections 5(4) and (5), 7 and 8, 9(2), 10 to 12, 20, 22, 35 to 40, 46 to 56, and 57(1) other than clauses (i) and (o) shall be administered by the Treasury Board, and the powers and responsibilities of the commission under those provisions shall be exercised or carried out by the Treasury Board.

References in regulations and documents

58.1(2)

A reference to the commission — in the regulations or in any document — relating to a matter dealt with in a provision mentioned in subsection (1) that is transferred to the Treasury Board, is deemed to be a reference to the Treasury Board.

Power to delegate

58.2

The Treasury Board may delegate any of the powers or responsibilities authorized to be exercised or carried out under the provisions transferred in subsection 58.1(1) — other than the power to make regulations — to an employing authority, on any terms and conditions that the Treasury Board considers appropriate.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
