THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT ACT (2)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
The Legislative Assembly Act is amended by this Act.
The following is added after subsection 52.19(1):
Amendment by L.A.M.C., retirement benefits
52.19(1.1)After the commission's term ends, the Legislative Assembly Management Commission may, by regulation, amend the regulations made under section 52.18 that deal with matters described in section 52.16 (retirement benefits) for the purpose of ensuring harmonization with any requirement of federal legislation.
52.19(1.2)A regulation under subsection (1.1) may be made retroactive to any date necessary to effect the harmonization.
This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
