THE MUSEUM OF MAN AND NATURE AMENDMENT AND CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS ACT


 

(Assented to November 19, 1996)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. M270 amended

The Museum of Man and Nature Act is amended by this Act.

The title is repealed and "THE MANITOBA MUSEUM ACT" is substituted.

Section 1 is amended by striking out "The Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature" and substituting ""The Manitoba Museum"".

Section 6 is repealed.

5(1)

Subsections 7(1) and (2) are repealed.

5(2)

Subsection 7(3) is amended by striking out ", or that is subject to any term or condition that, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, is contrary to the objects and purposes of the corporation".

Section 8 is repealed.

Section 10 is amended by adding "or her" after "his".

Transitional

The money, securities and other property entrusted by the corporation to the Board of Trustees before the coming into force of this Act, including the fund known as "The Foundation Fund", shall be transferred to and vested in The Manitoba Museum Foundation Incorporated.

Consequential amendment, C.C.S.M. c. F155

The definition "museum institution" in section 1 of The Manitoba Foundation Act is amended by striking out "the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature" and substituting "The Manitoba Museum".

Consequential amendment, C.C.S.M. c. F175

Clause 61(c) of The Freedom of Information Act is amended by striking out "the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature" and substituting "The Manitoba Museum".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on a day fixed by proclamation.
