The Crown Lands Amendment Act
(Assented to July 5, 1994)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
The Crown Lands Act is amended by this Act.
The definition "aliénation" in section 1 of the French version is repealed and the following is substituted:
« aliénation » Est assimilé à l'aliénation tout acte par lequel la Couronne concède, aliène ou grève des terres domaniales ou des droits y afférents, se départit de terres domaniales ou crée un droit sur celles-ci ou autorise leur usage. (« disposition »)
Clause 7(1)(e) of the French version is amended by striking out "les" and substituting "des".
4 The following is added after section 7:
In a lease or permit granted or issued under section 7, the minister may impose a condition requiring the lessee or permittee to obtain a work permit from the minister before undertaking any activity specified in the lease or permit.
The minister may impose terms and conditions on a work permit issued under this section or under clause 7(1)(c).
A person who
(a) fails to comply with a term or condition imposed on a work permit; or
(b) fails to comply with a condition imposed in a lease or permit under subsection (1) requiring the person to obtain a work permit before undertaking an activity;
Section 33 is amended by striking out "$2,000." and substituting "$10,000.".
This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
