An Act to amend The Registered Respiratory Technologists Act

(Assented to July 11, 1985)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Title am.

The title to The Registered Respiratory Technologists Act, being chapter 17 of the Statutes of Manitoba, 1980-81 (chapter R115 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba), is amended by striking out therefrom the word "TECHNOLOGISTS" and substituting therefor the word "THERAPISTS".

Sub-cl. 4(2)(a)(i) am.

Sub-clause 4(2)(a)(i) of the Act is amended by striking out the words "Technologists, and" in the 2nd line thereof and substituting therefor the words "Therapists/La Société Canadienne des Thérapeutes Respiratoires, and".

Subsec. 4(3) am.

Subsection 4(3) of the Act is amended

(a) by striking out the words "Technologists, and" in the 2nd line thereof and substituting therefor the words "Therapists/La Société Canadienne des Thérapeutes Respiratoires"; and

(b) by striking out the word "Technologists" in the last line thereof and substituting therefor the words "Therapists/La Société Canadienne des Thérapeutes Respiratoires".

Subsection 5(1) of the Act is amended by striking out the figure "7" in the 2nd line of clause (b) thereof and substituting therefor the figures "10".

Subsection 5(3) of the Act is amended by striking out the word "Technologists" in the last line thereof and substituting therefor the words "Therapists/La Société Canadienne des Thérapeutes Respiratoires".

Subsection 45(2) of the Act is amended by striking out the word "of" immediately after the word "cancellation" in the 2nd line thereof and substituting therefor the word "or".

Sec. 46 am.

Section 46 of the Act is amended by striking out the word "of" immediately after the word "board" in the 2nd line thereof and substituting therefor the word "or".

Subsec. 51(2) am.

Subsection 51(2) of the Act is amended by striking out the figures "51" in the 2nd line thereof and substituting therefor the figures "52".

The Act is further amended by striking out the word "technology" or "Technology" wherever it appears in the various sections, subsections or clauses as shown in Column 1 of Table 1 hereunder and substituting the word "therapy" or "Therapy", therefor, in each case, as may be required and as shown in Column 2 of Table 1 hereunder.

The Act is further amended by striking out the word "technologist" or "technologists" or "Technologists" wherever it appears in the various sections, subsections or sub-clauses as shown in Column 1 of Table 2 hereunder, and substituting therefor, in each case, the word "therapist", "therapists" or "Therapists", as may be required and as shown in Column 2 of Table 2 hereunder.

This Act comes into force on the day it receives the royal assent.
