Manitoba Regulation 146/2014 amended
1 The Trade of Esthetician Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 146/2014, is amended by this regulation.

1 Le présent règlement modifie le Règlement sur le métier d'esthéticien, R.M. 146/2014.
2 Section 1 is amended
(a) by repealing the definitions "limited practice permit" and "prescribed fee"; and
(b) by replacing the definitions "nail technician" and "skin care technician" with the following:
"nail technician" means a person who performs the following tasks to the standard indicated in the Provincial Occupational Standard for the subcomponent trade of nail technician:
(a) manicures and pedicures;
(b) artificial nail applications;
(c) repairs of natural and artificial nails. (« technicien en pose d'ongles »)
"skin care technician" means a person who performs the following tasks to the standard indicated in the Provincial Occupational Standard for the subcomponent trade of skin care technician:
(a) body treatments;
(b) skin treatments;
(c) advanced facial treatments;
(d) hair removal;
(e) tinting or henna services;
(f) lifts, perms and lamination services in respect of eyelashes and eyebrow laminations;
(g) eyelash or eyebrow extension services;
(h) basic make-up applications. (« technicien en soins de la peau »)
2 L'article 1 est modifié :
a) par suppression des définitions de « droits réglementaires » et de « permis d'exercice limité »;
b) par substitution, aux définitions de « technicien en pose d'ongles » et de « technicien en soins de la peau », de ce qui suit :
« technicien en pose d'ongles » Personne qui accomplit les tâches qui suivent, en conformité avec la norme professionnelle provinciale applicable à la sous-catégorie du métier de technicien en pose d'ongles, notamment :
a) les manucures et les pédicures;
b) la pose de faux ongles;
c) la réparation des ongles naturels et artificiels. ("nail technician")
« technicien en soins de la peau » Personne qui accomplit les tâches qui suivent, en conformité avec la norme professionnelle provinciale applicable à la sous-catégorie du métier de technicien en soins de la peau, notamment :
a) les soins du corps;
b) les soins de la peau;
c) les soins du visage avancés;
d) l'épilation des poils;
e) la teinture, notamment celle au henné;
f) la prestation de services de rehaussement, de permanente et de lamination des cils et la lamination des sourcils;
g) l'extension des cils et des sourcils;
h) le maquillage simple. ("skin care technician")
3 Subsection 8(2) is replaced with the following:

8(2) A journeyperson in the trade must not supervise more than two apprentices, regardless of whether the apprentices are engaged in apprenticeship training in the trade or a subcomponent trade.
8(2) Le compagnon peut superviser au plus deux apprentis, que ces derniers participent à une formation d'apprenti dans le métier ou une de ses sous-catégories.
8(3) For certainty, an employer may maintain a 2:1 ratio of apprentices to journeypersons in the trade.

4 Subsection 14(2) is replaced with the following:

14(2) To be issued a temporary permit, a person must file an application with the executive director.

5 Section 16 is repealed.

6 Section 17 is amended by striking out ", limited practice permit".

7 Section 18 is amended by striking out ", temporary permit, or limited practice permit" and substituting "or temporary permit".
