Manitoba Regulation 69/2023 amended

1   The Occupational Diseases Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 69/2023, is amended by this regulation.

2(1)   The table in the Schedule is amended by this section.

2(2)   Item 1 is amended by adding the following after the row respecting clause (k):

(l) Ammonia

Where there is occupational exposure to ammonia or ammonia compounds.

(m) Chlorine

Where there is occupational exposure to chlorine or chlorine compounds.

(n) Mercury

Where there is occupational exposure to mercury or mercury compounds.

2(3)   Item 9 is amended by striking out "nickel, or;" and substituting "nickel; or".

2(4)   The following is added after item 10:

10.1. Primary carcinoma of the lung when associated with asbestosis Where there is occupational exposure to airborne asbestos dust.
10.2. Primary carcinoma of the lung Where there is exposure to airborne asbestos dust for a period of employment of 10 years or more in one or more of the following industries:

(a) asbestos mining;

(b) insulation or filter material production;

(c) construction, where there is disturbance of asbestos-containing materials;

(d) plumbing or electrical work;

(e) pulp mill work;

(f) shipyard work;

(g) longshoring.

10.3. Carcinoma of the larynx or pharynx when associated with asbestosis Where there is occupational exposure to airborne asbestos dust.

2(5)   Item 11 is amended

(a) in Column 2 of the row respecting clause (a), by striking out "involves;" and substituting "involves";

(b) in Column 2 of the row respecting clause (b), by striking out "with:" and substituting "with"; and

(c) in Column 2 of the row respecting clause (c), by striking out "involves:" and substituting "involves".

Coming into force

3   This regulation comes into force on September 1, 2024.
