Manitoba Regulation 327/88 R amended
1 The Recreational Camps Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 327/88 R, is amended by this regulation.

2 Section 1 is amended
(a) by repealing the definitions ""inspector", "sanitary inspector", or "public health inspector"" and "medical officer of health";
(b) by adding the following definition:
"public health inspector" means an inspector as defined in The Public Health Act; (« inspecteur de la santé publique »)
(c) by replacing the definition "recreational camp" with the following:
"recreational camp" means a camp operated for the purpose of recreation, providing instruction or both, and which provides sleeping and eating facilities for campers for periods exceeding 24 hours. (« camp de récréation »)
2 L'article 1 est modifié :

3(1) Subsection 2(1) is amended by striking out "the medical officer of health" and substituting "a public health inspector".

(d) in clause (c) of the English version, by striking out "buildings," and substituting "buildings".

(e) in clause (m) of the English version, by striking out "The Environment Act, The Public Health Act," and substituting "The Environment Act and The Public Health Act";
(f) in clause (n), by striking out "for each sex as set out in Parts I and II of" and substituting "as set out in";
(g) in clause (o),
(i) by striking out "by the medical officer of health," and substituting "by a public health inspector", and
(ii) by striking out "to the medical officer of health" and substituting "to the public health inspector"; and
(h) in clause (p) of the English version, by striking out "refuse," and substituting "refuse".

5(2) Subsection 4(2) is replaced with the following:

4(2) The supervisor referred to in clause (1)(g) must
(a) be at least 16 years of age;
(b) hold
(i) for the years 2024 to 2026, a current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Award, or
(ii) for the year 2027 and subsequent years, a current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Award (Waterfront); and
(c) hold current intermediate level first aid and CPR Level C certification issued by a provider approved by the minister.
4(2) Le surveillant mentionné à l'alinéa (1)g) satisfait aux exigences suivantes :

4(3) Despite clause (2)(a), a person who is 15 years of age may act as a supervisor if they
(a) meet the other requirements of subsection (2); and
(b) are supervised by the camp director or an adult member of the camp's staff in accordance with section 26.1 of the Employment Standards Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 6/2007.
4(3) Par dérogation à l'alinéa (2)a), toute personne âgée de 15 ans qui satisfait aux autres exigences énoncées au paragraphe (2) peut agir à titre de surveillant si elle est surveillée par le directeur de camp ou par un membre adulte du personnel du camp conformément à l'article 26.1 du Règlement sur les normes d'emploi, R.M. 6/2007.
6 Section 5 is amended
(a) by adding the section heading "Food handling"; and
(b) by adding ", Manitoba Regulation 339/88R" at the end.

TOILET AND LAVATORY FACILITIES FOR RECREATIONAL CAMPS
1. Toilet and lavatory facilities to be provided by the operator of a recreational camp:

2. More than 100 persons: one additional water closet or privy seat, and one additional lavatory or wash basin, and one shower or bath for each additional 30 persons.
3. The toilet and lavatory facilities at a camp must be able to appropriately accommodate the privacy needs of campers. For this purpose, facilities may be designated by gender and universal facilities must be provided.
ANNEXE

2. Pour plus de 100 personnes, compter une toilette, un lavabo et une douche ou une baignoire supplémentaires pour chaque groupe additionnel de 30 personnes.
3. Les installations sanitaires se trouvant dans un camp doivent assurer convenablement l'intimité dont les campeurs ont besoin. À cette fin, il est possible de désigner ces installations par genre et il est obligatoire d'aménager des installations sanitaires universelles.
