HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

No name, image or title on material accompanying government cheques

The government or a government agency must not include the name, image or title of a member of the Executive Council on any printed notice or information or material that is included with a cheque concerning a tax credit, a rebate or a government grant or benefit program mailed by or on behalf of the government or a government agency.

This Act may be referred to as chapter R119.8 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

This Bill establishes The Restriction on Material Accompanying Government Cheques Act.

It prohibits the name, image or title of a Cabinet minister from being used on any material included with a cheque mailed by the government or a government agency.
