THE RED TAPE REDUCTION DAY ACT

WHEREAS small and medium-sized businesses form the backbone of Manitoba's economy;

AND WHEREAS a transparent, effective and efficient regulatory environment supports the sustainability of Manitoba businesses;

AND WHEREAS excessive regulation and unnecessary red tape create a drag on economic growth and a significant burden on the finances of both business and government;

AND WHEREAS eliminating unnecessary barriers fosters job creation, energizes Manitoba's economy and unleashes the province's true economic potential;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Red Tape Reduction Day

In each year, the third Tuesday of September is to be known throughout Manitoba as Red Tape Reduction Day.

This Act may be referred to as chapter R33 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba.

Coming into force

3

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

This Bill proclaims the third Tuesday in September of each year as Red Tape Reduction Day.
