THE MINOR AMENDMENTS AND CORRECTIONS ACT, 2020

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
PART 1
GENERAL
THE ABORIGINAL LANGUAGES RECOGNITION ACT
The Aboriginal Languages Recognition Act is amended in the first paragraph of the preamble and in section 1 by striking out "Ojibway and Oji-Cree" and substituting "Ojibwe and Ojibwe-Cree".
THE BOARDS, COMMITTEES, COUNCILS AND COMMISSIONS STREAMLINING ACT
(VARIOUS ACTS AMENDED OR REPEALED)
S.M. 2018, c. 8 (unproclaimed provision amended)
Subsection 7(3) of The Boards, Committees, Councils and Commissions Streamlining Act (Various Acts Amended or Repealed), S.M. 2018, c. 8, is amended by striking out "Minister of Education and Training" and substituting "chair of the Healthy Child Committee of Cabinet".
THE BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION AND TAX STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2015
The Budget Implementation and Tax Statutes Amendment Act, 2015, S.M. 2015, c. 40, is amended by this section.
Clause 18(1)(b) of the French version is replaced with the following:
b) dans le texte, par adjonction, après « l'information pour l'année », de « calculé en conformité avec le paragraphe (4) ».
Subsection 18(2) of the French version is replaced with the following:

Subsection 18(3) of the French version is replaced with the following:

THE BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION AND TAX STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2018
Subclause 69(3)(b)(i) of the French version of The Budget Implementation and Tax Statutes Amendment Act, 2018, S.M. 2018, c. 34, is replaced with the following:

THE BUSINESS REGISTRATION, SUPERVISION AND
OWNERSHIP TRANSPARENCY ACT (VARIOUS ACTS AMENDED)
S.M. 2019, c. 25 (unproclaimed provision amended)
Section 9 of the French version of The Business Registration, Supervision and Ownership Transparency Act (Various Acts Amended), S.M. 2019, c. 25, insofar as it enacts section 20.1 of The Business Names Registration Act, is amended by replacing subclause 20.1(3)(b)(iv) with the following:
(iv) les modifications apportées au nom d'une société en nom collectif, à sa déclaration, à son bureau enregistré ou à ses associés, ou à son fondé de pouvoir pour fin de signification au Manitoba,
THE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES ACT
The Child and Family Services Act is amended by this section.
Subsection 1(1) is amended
(a) in the definition "court", by striking out "; and the Court of Queen's Bench of Manitoba (Family Division) in Part V"; and
(b) in the definition "registry", by striking out "except in Part V,".
Subsection 75(1) is amended by striking out "Parts II, III and V" and substituting "Parts II and III".
Subsection 75(2) is amended by striking out "Part II, III or V" and substituting "Part II or III".
THE CHIROPRACTIC ACT
The Chiropractic Act is amended by this section.
Clause 21.5(6)(a) of the French version is amended
(a) by striking out "de l'équipement" and substituting "du matériel"; and
(b) by striking out "son équipement" and substituting "son matériel".
Subsection 29(1) of the French version is amended by striking out "les livres, les dossiers et les autres documents d'un membre ainsi que l'équipement" and substituting "le matériel et les documents d'un membre, y compris les livres et les dossiers,".
THE COMMODITY FUTURES AMENDMENT AND SECURITIES AMENDMENT ACT
Section 12 of the French version of The Commodity Futures Amendment and Securities Amendment Act, S.M. 2018, c. 17, is amended by striking out "passage du".
THE COOPERATIVES ACT
Clauses 338(1)(c) and (2)(c) of The Cooperatives Act are repealed.
THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT ACT
The Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Act is amended by this section.
The title is amended by striking out ", FOOD AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT" and substituting "AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT".
Section 1 is amended by striking out ", Food and Rural Development" and substituting "and Resource Development" in the definitions "department" and "minister".
Section 2 is amended by striking out ", Food and Rural Development" wherever it occurs and substituting "and Resource Development".
Consequential amendment, C.C.S.M. c. C225
Subsection 267(2) of The Corporations Act is amended, in the part after clause (d), by striking out ", Food and Rural Development" and substituting "and Resource Development".
Consequential amendments, C.C.S.M. c. P143
Section 25.5 of The Property Tax and Insulation Assistance Act is amended by striking out ", Food and Rural Development" and substituting "and Resource Development" in the following provisions:
(a) clauses (3)(a) and (b);
(b) subsection (4) in the part before clause (a).
THE DRIVERS AND VEHICLES ACT
The Drivers and Vehicles Act is amended by this section.
The definition "drive-away unit" in subsection 1(1) of the French version is replaced with the following:
« ensemble de véhicules » Ensemble composé d'un véhicule automobile de tête ainsi que d'un ou de plusieurs véhicules qui sont, selon le cas :
a) entièrement transportés;
b) tractés de telle sorte que toutes leurs roues sont en contact avec la route;
c) en partie tractés et en partie transportés.
La présente définition vise également le véhicule automobile de tête lorsqu'il n'est pas joint à un autre véhicule. ("drive-away unit")
Clauses 35(1)(a) and (b) of the French version are amended by striking out "qui se déplace au moyen de sa propre force motrice" and substituting "de tête".
THE ELECTIONS ACT
Section 159 of the French version of The Elections Act is amended
(a) in the heading for STEP 1, by striking out "mettre de côté les" and substituting "disposer des"; and
(b) in STEP 4,
(i) by replacing the heading with "disposer des bulletins mis de côté", and
(ii) in the second paragraph, by striking out "met les bulletins rejetés" and substituting "place les bulletins mis de côté".
THE FARM LANDS OWNERSHIP ACT
Subsection 18(1) of The Farm Lands Ownership Act is amended by striking out "section 1" and substituting "section 1.1" in the section heading and in the section.
THE GOVERNMENT NOTICES MODERNIZATION ACT (VARIOUS ACTS AMENDED)
S.M. 2018, c. 28 (unproclaimed provision amended)
The Government Notices Modernization Act (Various Acts Amended), S.M. 2018, c. 28, is amended by replacing the centred heading before section 13 and section 13 with the following:
The Infrastructure Contracts Disbursement Act
Section 5 of The Infrastructure Contracts Disbursement Act is amended by striking out "and in at least two issues" and substituting "or in at least two issues".
THE HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ACT
The Highway Traffic Act is amended by this section.
Paragraph 98.1(4)(a)(ii)(B) of the English version is amended by adding "speed limits" after "establish the".
Section 213.2 is amended
(a) in the section heading, by striking out "in vehicles" and substituting "in or on vehicles"; and
(b) in the French version, by striking out "dans un véhicule" and substituting "dans ou sur un véhicule".
Subclause 242.3(3)(a)(iv) is amended by striking out "subsection 320.16(1)" and substituting "section 320.16".
Subsection 264(1) is amended in subclause (a.2)(ii) of the definition "Category A offence" by striking out "subsection 320.16(1)" and substituting "section 320.16".
Clauses 319(12)(c) and (d) of the French version are replaced with the following:
c) prévoir les modalités selon lesquelles une autorité chargée de la circulation peut fixer une limite de vitesse;
d) prescrire les exigences qu'une règle ou un arrêté pris par une autorité chargée de la circulation visant la fixation d'une limite de vitesse doit respecter, notamment la forme de la règle ou de l'arrêté.
THE INCOME TAX ACT
The Income Tax Act is amended by this section.
Subsection 5.3(1) of the French version is amended in the definition "school tax reduction" by adding "civile" after "année".
Subclause 7.3(2.3)(b)(i) is amended, in the part before paragraph (A), by striking out "Minister of Growth, Enterprise and Trade" and substituting "Minister of Economic Development and Training".
THE LIQUOR, GAMING AND CANNABIS CONTROL ACT
Subsection 101.3(1) of The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act is amended by striking out "Minister of Growth, Enterprise and Trade" and substituting "Minister of Economic Development and Training".
THE PATH TO RECONCILIATION ACT
The Path to Reconciliation Act is amended by this section.
Subsection 5(2) is replaced with the following:
The minister must table a copy of the report in the Assembly on any of the first 15 days on which the Assembly is sitting after the minister completes it.
The minister must arrange for the report, or a summary of it, to be translated into the languages of Cree, Dakota, Dene, Inuktitut, Michif, Ojibwe and Ojibwe-Cree, and make each translation available to the public.
Section 6 is amended by striking out "Ojibway and Oji-Cree" and substituting "Ojibwe and Ojibwe-Cree".
THE PROVIDENCE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AND THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY INCORPORATION ACT
Section 15 of The Providence University College and Theological Seminary Incorporation Act is amended by striking out "Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy" and substituting "Minister of Economic Development and Training" in the section heading and in the section.
THE PUBLIC INTEREST DISCLOSURE (WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION) ACT
Subsection 29.1(1) of The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act is amended by striking out "made to a supervisor or designated officer" and substituting "received by the designated officer".
THE RED TAPE REDUCTION AND GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY ACT, 2018
Subsection 14(9) of the English version of The Red Tape Reduction and Government Efficiency Act, 2018, S.M. 2018, c. 29, is replaced with the following:
Subsection 56(4) is amended by striking out "prescribed in the regulations under The Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation Act" and substituting "established under The Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation Act".
THE REGULATED HEALTH PROFESSIONS ACT
The Regulated Health Professions Act is amended by this section.
Subclause 60(1)(d)(iii) of the French version is amended by adding "du capital-actions" after "les actions".
Subsection 65(1) is amended, in the part before clause (a), by striking out "subsections (2) and (3)" and substituting "subsection (2)".
Clause 66(c) of the French version is amended by striking out "imposer" and substituting "lui imposer".
Subsection 67(1) of the French version is amended by adding "ainsi que des motifs de sa décision" after "à l'article 66".
Section 139 is amended by striking out "Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy" and substituting "Minister of Economic Development and Training".
THE SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE RETAILING OF CANNABIS ACT
(LIQUOR AND GAMING CONTROL ACT AND MANITOBA LIQUOR AND
LOTTERIES CORPORATION ACT AMENDED)
Section 55 of the French version of The Safe and Responsible Retailing of Cannabis Act (Liquor and Gaming Control Act and Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation Act Amended), S.M. 2018, c. 9, is amended by striking out "boissons alcoolisées" and substituting "boisson alcoolisée".
THE MANITOBA TEACHERS' SOCIETY ACT
Section 15 of The Manitoba Teachers' Society Act is amended, in the section heading, by striking out "Minister of Education and Advanced Learning" and substituting "minister".
THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA ACT
The University of Manitoba Act is amended by this section.
Clause 26(1)(q) is amended by striking out "Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy" and substituting "Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Training".
Clause 37(c) is amended by striking out "Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy" and substituting "Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Training".
PART 2
PRIVATE SCHOOLS
Amendments to change "private school" to "independent school"
The Acts listed in the Schedule are amended as described in the Schedule.
PART 3
COMING INTO FORCE
Except as otherwise provided in this section, this Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
Section 3 is deemed to have come into force on November 5, 2015.
Section 4 is deemed to have come into force on November 8, 2018.
Section 8 is deemed to have come into force on June 4, 2018.
Sections 16 and 23 are deemed to have come into force on November 8, 2018.
Section 25 is deemed to have come into force on June 4, 2018.
The following Acts are amended in the provisions listed opposite to the name of the Act by striking out "private school" wherever it occurs and substituting "independent school", with necessary grammatical changes:
