THE FISHERIES AMENDMENT, FOREST AMENDMENT AND PROVINCIAL PARKS AMENDMENT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
THE FISHERIES ACT
The Fisheries Act is amended by this section.
Subsection 14.3(11) is replaced with the following:
A licence is not valid if
(a) the licence is issued to a person on the basis of false information; or
(b) the licence is issued to a person who is not eligible to hold it.
THE FOREST ACT
The Forest Act is amended by this section.
The following is added after section 20:
Third parties may issue specified licences and permits
The minister may authorize a person not employed by the government to issue specified licences or permits on behalf of the minister or the director, subject to such terms and conditions as the minister considers appropriate.
The following is added after clause 41(1)(q):
(q.1) respecting the manner in which licences and permits may be issued, including the submission of applications and the issuance of licences and permits using the Internet;
THE PROVINCIAL PARKS ACT
The Provincial Parks Act is amended by this section.
The following is added after section 30:
Third parties may issue specified licences and permits
The minister may authorize a person not employed by the government to issue specified licences and permits on behalf of the minister, subject to such terms and conditions as the minister considers appropriate.
Clause 33(q) is amended by adding ", including the submission of applications and the issuance of permits using the Internet" after "in provincial parks".
Clause 33(r) is amended by adding "including the submission of applications and the issuance of licences and permits using the Internet" after "for activities".
COMING INTO FORCE
This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
