THE COMMUNITIES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUND AMENDMENT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Communities Economic Development Fund Act is amended by this Act.

The definition "City of Winnipeg" in subsection 1(1) is repealed.

Clause 3(1)(b) is amended by striking out "outside of the City of Winnipeg".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

The objects of the Communities Economic Development Fund currently include encouraging economic development for aboriginal people outside of the City of Winnipeg. This Bill expands the objects of the Fund to include encouraging economic development for aboriginal people in the entire province, including Winnipeg.
