THE PLANNING AMENDMENT ACT (INLAND PORT AREA)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Planning Act is amended by this Act.

The following is added after section 11:

Inland port area

11.1(1)

The inland port area, as described in the Schedule to The CentrePort Canada Act, may be included in a special planning area. For certainty, land within the City of Winnipeg may be included in such a special planning area.

Consultation required

11.1(2)

Before the inland port area is designated as a special planning area, the minister must consult with

(a) the council of The City of Winnipeg;

(b) the council of the Rural Municipality of Rosser; and

(c) the board of the South Interlake Planning District.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
