HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Firefighters and Paramedics Arbitration Act is amended by this Act.

The definition "firefighter" in section 2.1 is amended by striking out "full time".

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

Under The Firefighters and Paramedics Arbitration Act, a dispute between a municipality and unionized, full-time firefighters is to be resolved by arbitration if the parties cannot otherwise agree.  This Bill extends those provisions to all unionized firefighters, regardless of whether they are employed full time.
