THE SECONDARY SUITES ACT (CITY OF WINNIPEG CHARTER AND PLANNING ACT AMENDED)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

S.M. 2002, c. 39, amended

1(1)

The City of Winnipeg Charter is amended by this section.

1(2)

The following is added after clause 151(c):

(c.1) promoting the construction and occupancy of self-contained living units, including secondary suites, in dwellings and buildings that are accessory to dwellings;

C.C.S.M. c. P80 amended

2(1)

The Planning Act is amended by this section.

2(2)

Subsection 4(3) is amended by striking out "and" at the end of clause (b) and adding the following after clause (b):

(b.1) the establishment of self-contained living units, including secondary suites, in dwellings and in buildings that are accessory to dwellings; and

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
