The Financial Administration Amendment Act

(Assented to November 10, 2016)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. F55 amended

1           The Financial Administration Act is amended by this Act.

2(1)        Subsection 4(1) is amended by striking out everything after "Minister of Finance" and substituting ", and of other ministers and members of the Legislative Assembly appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council".

2(2)        The following is added after subsection 4(1):

Majority must be ministers

4(1.1)      A majority of the members of Treasury Board must be ministers.

2(3)        Subsection 4(2) is replaced with the following:

Designating a chairperson and vice-chairperson

4(2)        The Lieutenant Governor in Council must designate one member of Treasury Board as chairperson and another as vice-chairperson. The chairperson and vice-chairperson must be ministers.

Coming into force

3           This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
