The Grandparents' Day Act

(Assented to June 11, 2009)

WHEREAS grandparents play an important, nurturing role in family life and are a valuable link between generations;

AND WHEREAS grandparents should be honoured and appreciated for their guidance and wisdom;

THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

Grandparents' Day

1           In each year, the first Sunday in September after Labour Day is to be known throughout Manitoba as "Grandparents' Day".

2           This Act may be referred to as chapter G95 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba.

Coming into force

3           This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
