THE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS COST ASSISTANCE AMENDMENT ACT


 

(Assented to June 29, 1998)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

C.C.S.M. c. P115 amended

1         The Prescription Drugs Cost Assistance Act is amended by this Act.

2         Subsection 9(1) is amended by adding the following after clause (g):

(g.1) prescribing conditions, including the payment of fees, to be met by manufacturers of drugs and other items in order for those drugs or other items to be considered for specification under clause (1.1)(a);

3(1)      Subsections 10(1) and (2) are amended by striking out "dentist or pharmacist" wherever it occurs and substituting "dentist, pharmacist or midwife".

3(2)      Clause 10(5)(g) is amended by striking out "medicine or dentistry" and substituting "medicine, dentistry or midwifery".

4         The following is added after section 14:

Minister may delegate

15        The minister may, in writing, delegate to any person any duty, power or function conferred or imposed on the minister by this Act or the regulations, except the power to make regulations.

Coming into force

5         This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
