THE RETAIL BUSINESSES HOLIDAY CLOSING AMENDMENT ACT
(Assented to June 28, 1997)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
1 The Retail Businesses Holiday Closing Act is amended by this Act.
2 Section 5 is amended by striking out "in prescribed form".
3(1) Subsection 6(1) is amended
(a) by striking out "of the Lieutenant Governor in Council" and substituting "of the minister"; and
(b) by striking out "the Lieutenant Governor in Council may authorize the minister to issue a permit in prescribed form" and substituting "the minister may issue a permit".
3(2) Subsection 6(2) is amended by striking out "Lieutenant Governor in Council" wherever it occurs and substituting "minister".
4 Section 9 is amended
(a) by repealing clause (a); and
(b) by adding the following after clause (a):
(a.1) for the purpose of subsection 6(1), establishing fees or a method for determining fees to be charged for permits;
5 This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.
