An Act to amend The Municipal Boundaries Act
(Assented to July 11, 1985)
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:
Section 6 of The Municipal Boundaries Act, being chapter M250 of the Revised Statutes, is amended by adding thereto, at the end thereof, the words "or the regulations".
The Act is amended by adding thereto, immediately after section 14 thereof and as part of Part II thereof, the following section:
For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act according to their intent, the Lieutenant Governor in Council may make such regulations and orders as are ancillary thereto and are not inconsistent therewith; and every regulation made under, and in accordance with the authority granted by, this section has the force of law; and, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, the Lieutenant Governor in Council may make regulations, not inconsistent with any other provision of this Act,
(a) establishing the legal description of the boundaries of any municipality in the province.
Sections 15 to 123 of the Act are repealed.
This Act comes into force on a day fixed by proclamation.
A proclamation under subsection (1) may be made to apply to any one or more of the sections repealed by section 3.
