THE DRIVERS AND VEHICLES AMENDMENT ACT (SUPPORT OUR TROOPS LICENCE PLATES)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Drivers and Vehicles Act is amended by this Act.

Subsection 60(1) is amended by striking out "A number plate" and substituting "Subject to section 60.1, a number plate".

The following is added after section 60 and before the centred heading that follows it:

"Support Our Troops" licence plates

60.1

The registrar must make available a number plate that

(a) includes the words "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" in capital letters;

(b) bears a graphic depicting a yellow ribbon and maple leaves; and

(c) includes any other depiction or design as may be determined by the registrar.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on October 1, 2014.
