THE HEALTH SERVICES INSURANCE AMENDMENT AND HOSPITALS AMENDMENT ACT (ADMITTING PRIVILEGES)

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

PART 1

THE HEALTH SERVICES INSURANCE ACT

C.C.S.M. c. H35 amended

The Health Services Insurance Act is amended by this Part.

The definition "in-patient" in subsection 2(1) is amended by

(a) adding "or a registered nurse (extended practice)," after "practitioner"; and

(b) adding "or a midwife" after "dentist".

Clause 113(1)(r) is amended by adding "or midwives" after "dentists".

PART 2

THE HOSPITALS ACT

C.C.S.M. c. H120 amended

The Hospitals Act is amended by this Part.

The definition "in-patient" in section 1 is amended by

(a) adding "or a registered nurse (extended practice)," after "practitioner"; and

(b) adding "or a midwife" after "dentist".

Clause 29(1)(y) is amended by adding "or midwives" after "dentists".

This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
