THE ELECTRICIANS' LICENCE AMENDMENT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

The Electricians' Licence Act is amended by this Act.

Clause 5(h) is replaced with the following:

(h) a licence of a class prescribed in clauses (a) to (f) to an applicant who holds a valid licence, certificate, registration or another form of official recognition issued by a regulatory authority in another Canadian jurisdiction that authorizes the applicant to do substantially the same electrical work as the holder of that class of licence is authorized to do in Manitoba.

Coming into force

This Act comes into force on the day it receives royal assent.

Explanatory Note

This Bill allows the minister to issue a licence to an individual who is certified to perform electrical work in another jurisdiction when the individual applies to be licensed to perform that electrical work in Manitoba.
