Succeeding Generations Program
PURPOSE
This program helps young and beginning farmers develop and manage viable farm operations while addressing the needs of retiring producers.
WHO QUALIFIES
Eligible applicants include:
- farmers between the ages of 18 and 39
- retiring farmers
ELIGIBLE COSTS
Support is available for the following program components:
- Mentoring
- Management training
- Young Farmer Newsletter and Website
- Extension events
Associated programs also include:
- Bridging Generations Initiative (BGI) - Loan Component *
- Young Farm Women's Training Program *
- Young Rural Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program *
*Associated programs are primarily provincially funded and complement the Growing Forward federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
