Succeeding Generations Program

PURPOSE
This program helps young and beginning farmers develop and manage viable farm operations while addressing the needs of retiring producers.

WHO QUALIFIES
Eligible applicants include:

  • farmers between the ages of 18 and 39
  • retiring farmers

ELIGIBLE COSTS
Support is available for the following program components:

  • Mentoring
  • Management training
  • Young Farmer Newsletter and Website
  • Extension events

Associated programs also include:

  • Bridging Generations Initiative (BGI) - Loan Component *
  • Young Farm Women's Training Program *
  • Young Rural Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program *

*Associated programs are primarily provincially funded and complement the Growing Forward federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
