1. Expenditure and Revenue Estimates

The Department of Finance's homepage contains departmental estimates information including the Manitoba Estimates of Expenditure for the fiscal year ending March 31st. The estimates of expenditure summarize the expenditure intentions of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives and other provincial departments by appropriation. Also included in the Department of Finance's homepage is the Manitoba Estimates of Revenue for the fiscal year ending March 31st. The estimates of revenue detail the revenue projections of the government as presented in the Manitoba Budget.

2. Supplementary Information for Legislative Review

This publication serves as a supplement to the printed main estimates of the Manitoba Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (see The Manitoba Estimates of Expenditures). The primary aim of this document is to provide members of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly with additional background information about the department's proposed spending budget. This material was also designed to provide general readers with a greater understanding of the Department's program objectives, activities, and expected results.

This publication is divided into several main sections. The first major section contains an overview of the Manitoba Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives budget requirements. The second main section includes program and financial information such as details involving staff requirements and expenditures. Information within the second major section is organized under main appropriations to facilitate cross-referencing to the printed main estimates. A five-year historical budget comparison of the Department's total expenditures and a standard glossary of terms is also included within the latter part of this document.

2009-2010 Supplementary Information for Legislative Review Departmental Expenditure Estimates

Annual Reports

The annual report summarizes the activities and accomplishments of the Department for the previous fiscal year.

Three major sections make up this report. The first main section describes the activities, expenditures and accomplishments of the Department according to sub-appropriation number. The second major section contains summary tables comparing actual expenditure and revenues with budgeted estimates for the same year. The last main section includes a five-year historical comparison of expenditures and staffing by appropriation number.
