Agri-Extension Environment Program

PURPOSE
The goal of this program is to encourage behaviour and attitude changes towards environmentally sustainable agriculture practices and to encourage adoption of environmentally sustainable agriculture practice on farms.

The program is open to all agri-environmental practices, but should focus on the following areas: stubble burning, manure management, soil erosion (wind and water), surface water management, salinity management, nutrient management (precision agriculture), greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation, riparian management, biodiversity maintenance and other emerging agri-environment issues.

WHO QUALIFIES
GO Team staff members are expected to facilitate all projects and individuals, partnerships, cooperatives, corporations and communes are encouraged to apply. Research stations, universities and other government funded agencies are not eligible.

The focus is on the extension of existing research and information to facilitate improved environmental performance of the agriculture sector.

ELIGIBLE COSTS
Funding is available for:

  • initiatives that facilitate the change of practices and attitudes of primary producers regarding environmental issues and concerns
