Agri-Extension Business Program

PURPOSE
This program helps agriculture and agri-product processing businesses expand their business/operations knowledge and increase the effective use of beneficial business management practices.

WHO QUALIFIES
Not for profit agricultural organizations and commodity groups are eligible to apply for support for extension activities directed at agriculture or agri-product processing businesses. Projects must address beneficial business management practices in at least one of the following topics:

  • financial management
  • business planning
  • human resource management
  • relationship and personal management
  • marketing
  • production/operational skills

ELIGIBLE COSTS
Eligible costs include:

  • goods and all related shipping and transportation
  • speakers/ presenters/applicants fees and per diems including hospitality and travel costs
  • increased rental/ lease fees for facilities, equipment and machinery
  • operations material
  • extension events and forums
  • development and distribution of training tools, materials and information
  • educational tours and exploratory visits
