Industry Innovation – Agri-Food Research and Development Initiative (ARDI)
PURPOSE
This program funds innovation in agrifood production and processing. Priority is
given to projects that create new farm income sources, growth in the value-added
sector and lower primary production costs.
WHO QUALIFIES
- farmers
- agri-processors
- research institutions
- entrepreneurs and businesses
- commodity associations, co-operatives
- First Nations
- other legal entities engaged in innovative agriculture projects
ELIGIBLE COSTS
The program’s target is to provide 50 per cent of the funds for
approved projects. Funds are available for, but are not limited to:
- project labour costs (excluding salary/wages paid to the business owner or
principal)
- materials and equipment operating costs
- facility and equipment leasing or rent
- travel and accommodation
- workshop and meeting expenses
- service agreements
- administration
- legal costs directly related to the project
